Ranks in Valorant- EVERYTHING EXPLAINED!!

Ranks in Valorant goes hand in hand by playing competitive mode. If you win, you rank up and if you lose, you'll get demoted. There are 8 ranks in Valorant: Iron, bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Immortal, and Radiant. Ranks Iron to Immortal are divided into 3 tiers- Tier 1, 2, and 3. Tier 3 is the highest tier within the Rank. Players of Immortal and Radiant ranks are featured in the game's leaderboard.

Players who perform wonderfully well will rank up faster than the average. These are shown at the end of a game with their current Ranks.

To earn a Rank, a new player must play 5 placement game. The highest rank a player can get placed into  is Diamond 1 (Tier 1 of Diamond).

Players are awarded with RR (Rank Rating) when they win a game. These RR are directly related to Ranks. A Rank Rating will show how their Ranks have been changed after the result of the match. A win earns a player around 5-50 RR. Higher the ranks, lower the RR they earn. Loses cost a player around 0-30 RR. Higher the ranks, higher the RR they will lose. In case of a "Draw", a maximum of 20 RR will be granted to a player depending upon their rank.

Players who reach 100 RR gets promoted to the next highest tier. They start the new tier with a minimum of 10 RR. Players who reach 0 RR in a tier are at risk of demoting. Immortal and Radiant can get more than 100 RR to climb above the leaderboard. There is a race goin on in there!!

Dodging in a competitive lobby will penalize a player with a few RR loss. Similarly, when a player goes AFK, they will be punished with an RR loss, going maximum till 12 RR even if their team wins the match.

Here is a brief of Every Rank in Valorant:

Iron

Iron is the starter and the lowest rank in Valorant. It has three tiers- Iron 1, Iron 2, & Iron 3. 11.9% of the total Valorant players are of Iron Rank.

Bronze

Bronze is the second most lowest rank in Valorant. It has three tiers- Bronze 1, Bronze 2, & Bronze 3. 25.8% of the total Valorant players are of Bronze Rank.

Silver

The silver rank in Valorant before the beta was  known as Veteran. It has three tiers- silver 1, Silver 2, & silver 3. 27.8% of the total Valorant players are of Silver Rank. The highest among all ranks.

Gold

Hero was the originally planed name for the Gold rank in Valorant. It has three tiers- Gold 1, Gold 2, & Gold 3. 18.5% of the total Valorant plyers are of Gold Rank.

Platinum

The Platinum rank was originally called "Legend". It has three tiers- Platinum 1, Platinum 2 & Platinum 3. 9.5% of the total Valorant players are of Platinum Rank.

Diamond

There is a reason why the Diamond rank in Valorant looks more like a purple diamond-- It was originally named "mythic" before the Valorant beta launch. It has three tiers- Diamond 1, Diamond 2, & Diamond 3. 4.4% of the total Valorant players are of Diamond rank.

Now here are the two rarest and the highest rank among all of them!!

Immortal

Immortal is the second highest rank in Valorant. It can be compared to Master/Grand Master of other games. It has three tiers- Immortal 1, Immortal 2, & Immortal 3. Only 2% of the total Valorant players are of Immortal Rank. They really are immortals haha.

Radiant

Trust me, reaching Radiant takes a hell of a grinding. It is the highest possible rank in Valorant. If you have managed to reach this rank, you're one of the BEST Valorant players in the world. To reach this rank, playing the game has to come down to habits and muscle memory of you. You don't think about the shots, the map, or bad teammates. You got to carry solo. Only 0.02% of all the Valorant players have managed to get into this. Really a huge task.

There is an ACT rank as well in Valorant which I shall write about in the next blog.

Also, what rank are you currently in? Do write down in the comments :)
